Longmont Visitors Guide

Dining

by: Lauren Greenfield.

Boulder and Denver were founded by gold seekers whose goal was to make a quick fortune, Longmont was founded by sober, hard-working farmers. The results show in many restaurants, where Longmont diners strike it rich with a new American cuisine that focuses on fresh ingredients.

Longmont Dining

While
One of the greatest joys of experiencing and discovering
a city is sampling the various restaurant offerings. As a small
city, Longmont offers many of the familiar chains that can be
found elsewhere. But those seeking a unique dining experience
need not go to the neighboring larger cities to discover locallygrown,
fresh and organic produce, eclectic dishes, several local
microbreweries and coffee shops to quench a thirst.

Martini's Bistro (6th & Terry St.) features continental American
cuisine with a creative list of martini options for every palette.Longmont Dining

Dickens Tavern (3rd & Main St.) features a new menu that offers
diners many "comfort foods" with a variety of local or unique twists.

Sugarbeet (101 S. Pratt) gets its name from the agricultural
beginnings in Longmont. This one is worth seeking out for a
fine and intimate dining experience, enticing and unique menu
and food well worth the trip.

Meat lovers will enjoy the choices at The Rib House, serving ribs
(pork or beef), chicken, turkey, and more with a choice of sauces, sides
and salads to accompany the grub at this Prospect-area restaurant

For the more traditional steak-seeker,
Texas Roadhouse (Clover Basin @ Hover Street) offers quality ingredients, large portions and many options for those with a hearty appetite seeking good value (and a "smaller option" menu just for the kids!).

Seven West Pizzeria is downtown's newest restaurant and
offers fabulous pizza in addition to "pub fare." But truly unique
and special to the restaurant is the rooftop bar overlooking all
of Longmont as well as views of the mountains.

Lefthand Brewing Co.

A popular spot for meetings, gatherings and laptops, Ziggi's
is located in the heart of downtown, brewing coffee from early
morning hours to scooping gelato to a selection of coffee drinks
to the later evening crowds. A second drive-thru Ziggi's, while
less social, can provide the same great joe to-go!

Vic's has been a long time Boulder institution, so when they
opened in Prospect, their reputation preceded them. A second
location at Airport and Nelson offers the familiar offerings for
those on the Southwest side of the City!

Tortuga's sits in a historic home in a residential part of town
in the Historic Westside neighborhood, and offers a unique
dining experience. With a Cajun/Creole theme, food is eclectic
and tasty, with a full bar selection, excellent wine list and many
local microbrews to choose from.

So, go explore and work up that appetite - the many options for
eating, snacking, dining and drinking await you!
