Breckenridge

Breckenridge is a quaint mountain town tucked away in the Ten Mile Range. The 151-year-old Victorian town includes one of the state's largest National Historic Districts with 249 Historic District Structures. Breckenridge, which was founded in 1859, was known as "Colorado's Kingdom" until it was finally incorporated into the United States in 1936.

Summer
Numerous diversions will seduce you, including rafting, golfing, hiking, fly-fishing, gold panning, kayaking, museum tours and biking, to name just a few. Bikers can take to the mountains on more than 200 miles of Oktoberfest, Breckenridge, Coloradooff-road paths or take it easy on more than 40 miles of paved bike paths.

The Riverwalk Center conducts musical majesty June through August as it hosts the Breckenridge Music Festival featuring performances by the National Repertory Orchestra and the Breckenridge Music Festival Orchestra and Ensembles.

Enjoy over 200 shops in the historic Main Street area or one of about 80 dining options. There's a store for every taste and a restaurant for every palate right here in Breckenridge!

The Breckenridge Welcome Center, 203 S. Main St., is located in the heart of town in the Blue River Plaza. Part information center, part historical museum, the 4,000-square-foot facility opened the summer of 2006 to provide visitors and locals information on everything from dining and shopping to winter and summer activities in and around Breckenridge.

Winter
Winter brings unique events to Breckenridge, which bustles with an independent dining scene, a thriving arts district and of course, plenty of snow. In addition to outdoor play - think snowshoeing, dogsledding, sleigh rides and more - a Ullr Fest parade on Main, Street Breckenridgeseason-long events lineup features one-of-a-kind celebrations with massive snow sculptures, parades in the name of snowfall and spring skiing parties.
