Whether it's a light meal of exotic tapas made delicately by revered chefs or a big pasta or prime rib dinner to bolster your strength on the mountain, Vail's venues feature representation from a myriad of global cuisines.

There's no question that in this little town, dining is an experience in itself. The artistry of local chefs has received praise and awards from international food and wine critics. One may begin each day with a big breakfast of Belgian waff les or fresh omelets to prime you for the slew of high-altitude activities. Lunch will deliver succulent barbecue, on mountain picnics, or exotic salads. Dinner opens into any manner of plated masterpieces. Crème Brule, cheesecake, German strudel, or whatever your sweet tooth fancies, will follow finding its devourers licking their plates.

What better way to keep your legs resuscitated for the following day's flurry of adventure than an easy stroll through town to bars and sports clubs, each presenting its own ski town character. Dancing and live music can be found all over town, just follow the rhythm. With so many enticing hot spots, some might even carry on straight from après ski into the wee hours. Movie theaters are available for the low-key escape, and clubs feature an intimate venue for national touring artists, many of whom stop between cities to sneak a day or two in on the mountain.
