OPEN FROM OCTOBER TO EARLY JUNE, Arapahoe Basin has one of the longest ski seasons in North America. Enjoy the 360 degree view from the summit or lunch at black mountain lodge all while skiing some of the best terrain in the country. With the addition of Montezuma Bowl, there is twice the natural beauty to explore; more high-alpine groomed runs, bowls, chutes, and glades, all serviced by our new quad chair lift. Parking

Once you arrive at A-Basin, there are four parking lots: Early Riser parking lot is located directly adjacent to the mountain between the Black Mountain Express and Pallavicini lifts, High-Noon parking lot is located a few hundred yards east (up towards Loveland Pass) of the Base Area, Last Chance parking lot is further still up Loveland pass, and the Administration Lot (the smallest) is located directly outside the Guest Services Building and the Ticket/Season Pass Office adjacent to the base area.

LESSONS

Arapahoe Basin Snowsports School: 3 years and up for ski; 5 years and up for snowboard.
Lessons: Ski, snowboard, telemark and High Adventure Series: featuring clinics on slopestyle, free ski,women's and telemark, plus avalanche education schools. Of Note: Private lessons can accommodate up to 4 people for the same price as one person! Guaranteed to Learn: (Ages 7 and up) Package includes one full-day class lesson, two half-day class lessons and a 2010/11 season pass. The guarantee is you will be skiing the mountain by your third lesson.

10th Annual Beacon Bowl and Avalanche Awareness Day February 11, 2012
An event backcountry skiers and riders should not miss. Beacon Bowl entrants compete in timed trials to find a buried beacon the fastest. Spectators are able to test out the newest avalanche gear and attend clinics. Proceeds go to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center. Cost - TBD

Beach'N Egg Hunt April 8, 2012
The Easter Bunny visits A-basin for an Easter Egg Hunt on skis. Both skiing and non-skiing children can participate. The Easter Bunny arrives at the Basin at noon - just outside the Snowsports Center. Egg hunts take place on Molly Hogan (those who do not ski) & Wrangler for those that do ski! Don't miss out! Cost - Free

10th Annual Marmot Grind April 14, 2012
The Marmot Grind in an uphill, downhill adventure race designed to introduce new participants to backcountry skiing as well as challenge the veteran skier. Races are modeled after European randonee events with competitors beginning on foot and running to clip into their skis. Athletes skin uphill on a challenging course and race down to the finish. Race category vertical is approximately 4,500ft, recreational 2,000ft.

22nd Annual Enduro April 18, 2012
Only A-Basin would bring you an endurance race of this caliber. Skiers and riders take laps on the Pali chair from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. without stopping. 69 runs is the record. All proceeds from the event benefit a local charity. Cost - TBD

4th Annual Save our Snow Celebration April 21, 2012
As stewards of an exceptional mountain environment, Arapahoe Basin Ski Area is committed to providing quality outdoor recreation experiences. Join A-Basin for a day of environmental education and a fun race. All proceeds from this event will benefit High Country Conservation Center.

DIRECTIONS BY CAR
By car from Denver: The resort is a 96 mile drive west from Denver International Airport via I-70 west. Take I-70 west to Silverthorne (exit 205), then travel 12 miles east on U.S. Highway 6. Or, choose the 68 mile scenic route from Denver by taking I-70 west to Loveland Pass (exit 216), then proceed west on U.S. Highway 6 for 8 miles.

By car from Colorado Springs: The 115 mile trip follows I-25 north to C-470 west, then take I-70, and west to Silverthorne (exit 205), then travel 12 miles east on U.S. Highway 6. Or, take the scenic route via U.S. Highway 24 west to Colorado Highway 9 north, turn right onto Swan Mountain Road and right again onto U.S. Highway 6, then venture east for 8 miles.

DIRECTIONS BY BUS
Free hourly shuttle-bus service is available from all towns and ski resorts in Summit County via the Summit Stage, 970-668-0999. Direct shuttle service from Keystone every day of the week.

DIRECTIONS BY AIR
Denver International Airport has daily flights from most major U.S. cities. The Colorado Springs Municipal Airport is served regularly by most major airlines.
