Travels 2.5 miles and more than 3,000 vertical feet from the heart of Aspen to the 11,212-foot summit of Aspen Mountain. At the top, bask in the spectacular panoramic views of Aspen and the Elk Mountain Range and take in the many activities that the high altitude has to offer: dine at the Sundeck, take a free mountain-orientation tour with an ambassador, or step up your technique with Ski & Snowboard Schools of Aspen/Snowmass.

Aspen Art Museum » The Aspen Art Museum is open year-round and presents the newest, most important evolutions in international contemporary art. Admission to the AAM is FREE courtesy of John and Amy Phelan.

The Maroon Bells » Among the most-photographed peaks in North America, the Maroon Bells are one of Aspen/Snowmass' grand attractions and can be reached by guided snowmobile tours in the winter.

Snowshoeing » Enjoy a two-hour snowshoe adventure led by a naturalist from Aspen Center for Environmental Studies on top of Aspen Mountain, Snowmass and Ashcroft daily. (970) 925-5756.

The world's fastest women skiers will take Aspen Mountain by storm over Thanksgiving weekend. Spectators are invited to the base of Lift 1A on Aspen Mountain to enjoy prime viewing of the finish line from the grandstands. The weekend includes the first Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert Series of the season. Both events are FREE and open to the public!

Summit For Life Uphill Race

This year marks the 9th Annual Aspen Summit for Life! In this exciting event, contestants race from the base of Aspen Mountain all the way to the top! Racers climb 3,267 vertical feet - over 2.5 miles at night. All participants receive a racer bag valued at over $100 and top racers and fundraisers will receive great prizes! The post-race party at the summit will include dinner by The Little Nell, live music, and awards for top fundraisers and racers presented by liver recipient and Bronze Medalist, Chris Klug.

Nature Valley Nastar National Championships

Aspen/Snowmass will host the largest public grassroots ski race program in the world, Nature Valley NASTAR National Championships. For the third year in a row, devoted skiers from approximately 45 states, ranging in age from 3 to 90, will return to the world-class resort to compete for national titles in various divisions of the Nature Valley NASTAR National Championships.
