VAIL
For over forty years, the name "Vail" has been synonymous with the American alpine experience. Situated high up in the Gore Valley and surrounded by the White River National Forest, our community is ideally located in proximity to all that the Rocky Mountains have to offer. The founders of Vail decided to model the town after a European style alpine village. Today hand painted floral exteriors on several lodges creates a charming atmosphere for families and couples. Whether you are here for the ski season or the summer, Vail is the most spectacular valley in Colorado. This web site will help you with any questions about activities, planning your vacation, relocating, or any other general information. We hope that you have a great experience!

ATTRACTIONS

Vail Mountain - Coveted as North America's top ski resort, Vail is an extraordinary winter vacation destination. Spanning seven miles are seven legendary Back Bowls, blanketed last year with thirty-eight feet of powder snow. Under blue sky three hundred days a year and with more groomed terrain than anywhere on the planet, families reconnect and celebrate here from year to year and generation to generation. Vail's Back Bowls feature seven wide-open bowls of powder paradise-and that's just one-third of the total terrain. The Front Side boasts more than 128 individual trails, while Blue Sky Basin features 645 acres of adventure terrain.

Vail Snowsports School - Let Vail's top Snowsports School instructors show you how to have the best day on the slopes right from the start as you explore the sprawling 5,289 acres.

Our Children's Snowsports School is designed to introduce your little ones to a lifetime of skiing or snowboarding with on-snow programs for 3 year olds and up. Our mini-jibber lesson program introduces 5-6 year olds to snowboarding on gently sloped terrain, specifically designed for beginners.

Enlist the help of one of our experienced instructors to help you take your skiing to the next level, or simply help you and your friends or family to navigate the mountain with a private lesson.

After Hours at Eagle's Nest - Skiing and snowboarding aren't the only fun to be had on the mountain. In the afternoon, head up to Adventure Ridge at the top of the gondola for ski-biking, tubing, snowshoe tours, bungee trampoline and more.

Join us on select evenings for a Western Family Dinner Theater. You and your family will enjoy a buffet style dinner and the entertaining stories and shenanigans of the Buckaroo Bonanza Bunch.

If you are looking for a truly unique dining experience, visit our mountain-top European chalet-Game Creek Restaurant. Enjoy distinctive American cuisine, an extensive wine list, and superior service complimented by a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Buzz's Ski Shop 302 Gore Creek Dr. 970.476.3320
From Matt in San Francisco:

Buzz's is a solid ski shop. If you are looking for high-priced corporate Vail and want to be pampered, etc...Buzz's is not your place. What you will get at Buzz's is:
1. Knowledgeable techs: Pretty important if you are looking to have questions answered about your equipment
2. Good equipment: demo's and rentals were all top notch. Everything I wanted to demo they had and they also made suggestions to hel with comparisons
3. Location is excellent for anyone staying in Vail Village or on the Golden Peak side. A quick 2 minute walk to the Vista Bahn and they will let you leave your gear there overnight (major advantage)
4. Pricing is definitely the cheapest in Vail.
I would highly recommend Buzz's Ski Shop.
