Rocky Mountain National Park >

Established in 1915, Rocky Mountain National Park is one of the country's most visited national parks, attracting more than 3 million visitors each year. The park contains more than 415 square miles of the most breathtaking mountain scenery in America. With its granite summits towering over forested valleys, the landscape inspires visitors with its immense size and beauty. At 7,522 feet above sea level, the village of Estes Park takes your breath away with its view of mountain peaks ranging in elevation from 8,500 feet to over 14,000 feet. From Mexico to Alaska, for 2,700 miles, the great Rocky Mountain chain forms the backbone of North America, the world's longest mountain barrier.  Trail Ridge Road, at 12,183 feet, is the highest major highway in North America. RMNP is an excellent park for family outdoor adventures, offering an extraordinary variety of recreational and educational activities in a stunningly beautiful setting. The National Park has over 350 miles of trails; there are rivers, high-alpine lakes, waterfalls, and vistas to explore. Abundant opportunities for hiking, backpacking, horseback riding, fishing, camping, and an abundance of wildlife will expose the extravagance of nature in all its beauty.
