Street Vistas: Oaxaca’s Día de los Muertos

Oaxaca’s Día de los Muertos

The enchanting world of Day of the Dead comes alive as Street Vistas: Oaxaca’s Día de los Muertos.

Opens Oct. 4 and runs through Nov. 23 at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures.

The exhibit will capture the essence of the Day of the Dead tradition through the lens of everyday life leading up to and during the grand celebration. You will be transported to the bustling streets of Oaxaca, where colorful papier-mâché skeletons and intricate street vignettes tell stories of family, remembrance, and community. Enchanting scenes adorn the facades of shops, stores, and restaurants – each decorated to honor the departed. These traditional folk art displays provide a glimpse into the heart of the celebration, where daily life and the spiritual world intertwine seamlessly.

Museum Location Description

The Global Village Museum is located at 200 West Mountain Avenue, and Museum hours are 11 am to 5 pm Tuesday through Saturday.
