Master Class with the Brentano String Quartet hosted by Off the Hook Arts

February 8, 2020

Academy Senior Living, 970 Aurora Ave, Boulder, CO

Off the Hook Arts and the University of Colorado Boulder present the Brentano String Quartet as part of OtHA WinterFest 2020. Watch members of the Brentano String Quartet as they publically teach students of the University of Colorado Boulder’s College of Music.

What is the benefit of attending a public master class?
By providing a public ‘lesson’ there is an opportunity for the student as well as the audience attending the class to learn golden tidbits of musical information that can better inform them as a performer or even as a listener. As a student, being on the spot in such a vivid way can often bring familiar information or instruction into greater focus. This frequently results in a break-through on phrasing, understanding, or technical hurdle. As an audience member who isn’t a musician but wants a greater understanding of how the performer approaches a piece, more deeply understands it, and decides how to interpret it, these classes are gold mines. We highly recommend taking the time to watch these masters at work.

“The concert made it clear that these players could well be the best of the latest generation. Their level of individual technique was superb, while musical dialog necessary for rich chamber music was evident from first to last.” ~ Philadelphia Inquirer
