Royal Gorge Bridge & Park Easter Sunrise Service

Canon City, Colo.—The sun will rise shortly before 6:30 a.m. just in time for a breathtaking view of early morning light at the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park for the Easter Sunrise Service, Sunday, April 16. The hour long service starts at 6:30 a.m. and is free to the general public.
Grant Adkisson, Christian pastor for over 40 years will be delivering the message, “One Word” with music led by artist Jimmy Bennett. The north gate (main gate) to the park will open at 5:30 a.m. and the Easter Service will take place on the South Rim of the Royal Gorge “across the bridge.”
Adkisson is widely known as “Cowboy Preacher” for his work with the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys. He has preached in all 50 states and over 40 foreign countries, including preaching tours at the National Western Stock Show, Cheyenne Frontier Days, and the National Finals Rodeo. He is the main writer for the “The Ways for Cowboys” New Testament, and “The Heart of the Outdoors,” sportsman Bible.
A free will offering will be taken for Loaves and Fishes. Executive Director, DeeDee Clements saidLoaves and Fishes Ministries is a faith-based nonprofit that supports families and individuals with their basic needs. The offering will go to providing permanent and transitional housing, emergency shelter, clothing, and food for those in need in Fremont County she said.
Complimentary coffee and hot cocoa will be served, and guests should dress warmly for the Colorado’s early morning chill. There will be seating for 500, and guests may bring their own chairs and blankets. Guests will park on the north side of the park and can either walk across the bridge or take the shuttle.
