Front Range Open Studios Tour Weekend

September 9 - 10, 2017

17275 Colonial Park Drive, Monument, CO

You’ve seen the finished product in galleries and stores but do you know how and where fine art and craft is made? This weekend is your chance to find out!  One craftsman creates the finest furniture from recycled and reformed wood. You will see the step by step process of creating a bronze sculpture, how a pottery kiln differs from a glass kiln, and experience the artistic side of blacksmithing!  Watch a skilled wood turner coax a paper thin vessel from a chunk of cherry or oak. A jeweler will demonstrate how she combines metal and gemstones into a breathtaking necklace. And meet the alpacas that provide the fiber for the unique and unusual garments at one location!  This is the only studio tour in the state of Colorado where every location is the actual working studio of the artist! There will be demonstrations of techniques and drawings for gift certificates from local merchants, as well as the opportunity, at some locations, to create a piece of art of your own! Grab a map and start your tour!
