Perpetual Motion Kicks Off Shady Grove Concerts

June 8, 2016

715 South Forest St., Denver, CO

Just back from an appearance at the Zone Music Awards in New Orleans, Perpetual Motion is kicking off the Shady Grove Picnic Concerts at Four Mile Historic Park with a show on Wednesday, June 8. The electric violin and guitar duo Perpetual Motion is an unlikely pairing of a classically trained chamber musician and a rock guitarist. Their signature sound is an eclectic mix of world music, progressive jazz, blues and rock.

During their twenty five years together the band has cycled from a folksy classical blend to a progressive world music sound. Starting as a duo, they’ve added rhythm sections and then returned to their duo roots. They’ve released five CDs, performed all along Colorado’s front range, and accumulated awards along the way. Their dynamic live performances have garnered a loyal audience and rave reviews.

Exploring different styles of music is what keeps this duo’s compositions fresh and exciting. They are known for their musical ADD, jumping seamlessly from bossa nova to blues, surf to swing, tying everything together with the mastery of their instruments.

On the banks of Cherry Creek, just four miles from downtown Denver, Four Mile Historic Park is a 12 acre oasis in the city.  Bring a picnic and your family and take part in this summer tradition that’s been happening for almost two decades.
